Hiking up (redacted mystery hike at home), WA
2009

Having grown up in the Methow Valley in Washington State I’ve had an opportunity to compete in athletics my whole life. Cross country ski racing, soccer, XC running, swimming, running alpine ski gates, and racing my older sister to dinner have all influenced who I am as an athlete. A few years ago, I realized what cross country skiing could do for me physically, mentally and in everyday life. Since I made the switch to cross country, I’ve noticed a mental shift that accompanied it; a progressive and evolving motivation to better myself and the people around me, to hold school and athletics above all else, and to put my all into each and every thing I do. I have begun to train vigorously, study meticulously, race harder, and rest smarter.

Biathlon BC Cup 3, 2016
Late night school work (:

When I’m not training for cross country and Biathlon, I attend Laurel Springs Private Online School, providing me with the flexibility I need for the travel associated with competing in two full time winter sports.

I have attended many cross country and Biathlon summer camps, I held a summer job at Winthrop Mountain Sports, learned the art of baking bread from a fellow Birkebeinerrennet competitor, and launched a small business creating handmade mixed media cards that focus primarily on people enjoying the outdoors. I also enjoy cooking and baking, as well as eating- oh how I love to eat!
